Pastor John Collis
Pastor John Collis was called into the ministry in 1993 and has been the pastor of Hunt Baptist Church since 2008. He previously served as pastor of First Baptist Church, Ozona, Texas and First Baptist Church, White Deer, Texas. Prior to this he was Youth Pastor of Bethel Baptist Church in Roswell, New Mexico.
Pastor Collis received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Eastern New Mexico University and his Master of Theology from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. In addition, Pastor Collis has a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. In addition to being pastor of Hunt Baptist Church, Pastor Collis currently operates Agape Christian Counseling which specializes in Marriage, Family, and Individual Counseling.
Pastor Collis has as his first passion, helping others find and maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It is only through a personal relationship with Jesus that true reformation and change can take place in a person’s life. As his second passion, Pastor Collis strives to minister to the hurts and pains of others through counseling them through personal and relational difficulties. His motto is a simple prayer to God, “Lord, just for today, let me make a difference in the life of someone else.” Pastor Collis seeks to fulfill this endeavor through pre-marital, marriage, personal, and relational counseling. Pastor Collis states that “there is no greater pleasure than to bring someone else into a personal relationship with Jesus but a close second would be to see others healed from traumatic and difficult circumstances which keep them from being the person God created them to be.
Pastor Collis has a vision for Hunt Baptist Church to be a lighthouse and spiritual hospital within the community of Hunt. HBC has had an Awana ministry for over twenty years and the vision is to enhance and expand this ministry through outreach and bible study. Our vision also includes reaching the youth of our community through a vibrant youth ministry. Our goal is to enhance bible study and prayer throughout the week through small group gatherings. We are a loving, caring, and compassionate church that seeks to minister to the entire family. Pastor Collis would like to invite you to join us here at Hunt Baptist Church to utilize your God given talents as we seek to serve God in and around the community of Hunt.
Pastor Collis has been married to his high school sweetheart, Layne since 1981, who has ministered faithfully beside him throughout the years. Together, they have three wonderful children, a beautiful granddaughter, and two rambunctious dogs.

Callie Stelter
Hi everyone! My name is Callie Ann Stelter and I have had the joy of being the worship leader at Hunt Baptist Church for the past 4 years. I grew up in the Texas Panhandle but the Hill Country has been home now for quite sometime. I happily live here now with my husband, Jimmy, and son, Ruger. I have been singing in church ever since I can remember, and accepted Jesus into my heart at the age of 6 and was baptized at First Baptist Church in Spearman, TX. I am so blessed to make a living painting and designing murals, t-shirts and more across the state of Texas. So thankful for our Creator and the gifts he has bestowed upon me. It is my joy to serve here at Hunt Baptist Church!

Ginger Turner
Ginger is our newest addition to the Hunt Baptist Church team as Youth Leader. She moved back to the Texas Hill Country with her family in 2021 but has always called the Hill Country home, after being raised in Canyon Lake. Ginger and her husband, Heath, manage Warriors for God Ministries in addition to their full-time jobs. Ginger is a private school teacher, certified Christian Life Coach, Mental Health Coach, and former Executive Director of a private Christian school in west Texas. Her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Counseling has enabled her to work with families across the country through their ministry. She has led Junior Warriors for God Youth for over five years and still meets with them monthly in west Texas. She has a servant’s heart and looks forward to serving Hunt Baptist Church and children in this capacity.
